It's not easy as a woman to find a car service place that I don't feel like I am being taken advantage of and/or that I feel like the employees are condescending. Almost 3 years ago after yet another bad experience at a car place close to where I live, someone suggested to me Auto Serve in Charles Town WV. I have a 2007 Honda CRV which was at almost 200,000 miles at the time and I hoped to keep it going for another 100K. Auto Serve has given my vehicle its second life and the place makes me feel like a car owner invested in my vehicle, not a woman to be taken advantage of. I drive almost 2 hours to get my car serviced here because it is worth the time! My vehicle is now at 250K and I thank Auto Serve for keeping my CRV in tip top shape. Their service is competent and fair!

If you have no options go here. After my normal inspection station I had been using for 8 years closed I was referred here. I got there first thing at 8 am Saturday morning and was asked if I was going to wait. I was given a "that's fine just know it won't be done until about 1030". Well I had no choice my 18 month old was still at home in bed and I was not within walking distance. 830 my husband is able to pick me up. I get in the house and 5 minutes later get a call that "Since we realized it was a 2016 we were able to get it in quicker". Really the moment I leave?

Due to an issue I had with a company who worked on my car before it failed so I failed. I was told to just swing back and it could be checked quick and I would be on my way. Even if it was close to closing I could call and let them know I was running close and they would help me out. I thought that was nice and was willing to look past the earlier time estimate

Take it today in today and talk to a guy in the shop and explain what happened. He was nice and said "sure just let them know inside and I will look at it for you". So I drag my child out of the car and in there and the guy looks at me like I have 2 heads when I recount me coming on Saturday and him saying to bring it back. I get "that's fine but they are at lunch now so yea come back at 130". At this point I am just angry and my child is exhausted so I turn to leave and he feeds it "did you not give us a call" REALLY??? This shop may be great but this counter guy who just sits there is a bad representation. Thanks to the guy who was going to check my car since some people were still working and not on lunch.

I've been impressed with AutoServ. My neighbor sent me here a few years ago when I needed a new tire. Since then my family and I have been happily returning. Thanks to all the guys at the shop for always being so professional and getting my vehicles turned around as fast as possible.

Great shop! This place is cle...

Great shop! This place is clean, friendly and most importantly honest. My wife herd a noise while dropping the kids off at school, so I did a Google search for auto repair in Charles Town and found AutoServ. Turns out the noise was a wheel bearing going bad. On this particular vehicle the wheel bearings inside of whats called a hub assembly. Anyway...they diagnosed the vehicle correctly, fixed it and had it back to us in time to pick the kids up from school (same day)! Also they took a look over the rest of the vehicle to make sure it was in good shape.

Very happy with the service and we will certainly return.

DO NOT GO HERE!

[and see other poor reviews under google]

I took my 2004 Subaru Forester here last week for the annual inspection. A mechanic with initials JRB told me I did not pass inspection because I needed new brakes and a new power steering rack. Estimated repairs = $1000. I baby my car and had taken it to a Subaru dealer for its 60K maintenance a few months prior to this appt. Autoserv slapped a REJECTED sticker on my windshield and advised me I couldn't drive anywhere except to and from work and the grocery store until I had these repairs. I immediately drove my car to a Subaru dealer and explained what Autoserv had told me. Subaru laughed at them. My brakes have 10-20K miles left on them, there was no sign of damage, and they recommended I NOT change the brakes. The power steering rack? NOTHING was wrong! The fluid the Autoserv mechanic saw was not even the color of power steering fluid! Autoserv mechanics are either grossly incompetent or practice unethical business practices by "fishing" for business. Either is reason enough to avoid this business like the plague. I returned that same day and demanded they remove the rejected sticker from my windshield. The desk clerk was at least apologetic and suggested I file a complaint with the owner, which I intend to do. But bottom line - DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE to Autoserv.

Sounds like a disgruntled and unfair review. Maybe in retrospect, you would lighten up a bit. It also sounds like you shoot from the hip when your angry. Just because you baby your car doesn't mean that it is immune from mechanical problems. And, it's fairly safe to say that the shop offered to show you what was wrong with your car. I'm betting that you had it fixed elsewhere and are now taking unfair jabs at AutoServ because they delivered the bad news. The State of WV requires that a REJECTED sticker be placed on vehicles that don't pass inspection. The repair shops are not allowed to omit the REJECTED sticker. Instead of over-reacting and trying to blemish the name of a business that has a very good reputation, you should have brought the matter to the attention of the business owner and afforded him the opportunity to respond. So, the real bottom line is that you are out to settle a score. You should just admit that the REJECTED sticker made you so angry that you decided to get revenge by posting a nasty review. If you would have taken half as much energy to work with the repair shop instead of being vindictive, then I'm certain the state inspection and the needed repairs could have been accomplished to your satisfaction. In fact, I'm certain that the business owner would have gone above and beyond to accommodate you. I also know that, if your assertions are accurate, that all would have been resolved fairly and promptly. As a repair shop owner and the founder of AutoServ, I can assure you that there are at least 100 happy and loyal customers to every customer who wants to blow off steam about being rejected on a state inspection. I am hoping that the readers of these posts can see that you are just angry and quick to judge. Just for clarity, exactly what WV Subaru dealer performed the subsequent state inspection? I'm not aware of a Subaru dealer anywhere near Charles Town except the ones in Maryland and Virginia. And, if you didn't have the car inspected by the dealer (as you imply) then who did inspect it and what did they find? Naturally, there's always more to the story . . . I hope that you get everything resolved to your satisfaction and upon having your problems resolved, I hope you are just as eager to tell the world how accommodating the shop owner was to your concerns. Fair is fair.
